Remote Keyless Entry System
A remote transmitter can be used to lock or unlock vehicle doors. System operation is indicated by the side marker lights, taillights and parking lights flashing once (lock) or twice (unlock). An audible indicator (alarm chirp) can also be programmed. Door locks cannot be locked with transmitter if key is in ignition or if either door is not fully closed. If doors are unlocked using transmitter and no door is opened within 30 seconds, doors will lock and anti-theft system will rearm.
When the LOCK button is pressed, all doors will lock. When the UNLOCK button is pressed, only the drivers door will unlock. Pressing the UNLOCK button again will unlock both doors.
Major components of the power door lock system include: power door lock control module, door lock switches, door key position switches. Additional components include: remote transmitter, keyless door lock control unit.
To open trunk with remote transmitter, press trunk release button for one second. Trunk will not open if the key is in the ignition.
