System Control Unit Input Tests

WARNING: Deactivate air bag system before performing any service operation. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article. DO NOT apply electrical power to any component on steering column without first deactivating air bag system. Air bag may deploy.

Remove passenger's seat. Disconnect 12-pin and 18-pin connectors from keyless entry and anti-theft control unit. Inspect connectors and terminals. Check for bent, loose or corroded terminals. Perform control unit input tests. See Fig 1 -Fig 4 . If control unit input test results are as specified, replace faulty security control unit.
