Removal & Installation (2.3CL & 3.0CL)

Mark spark plug wires, distributor housing and cylinder head for installation reference. Disconnect distributor 10-pin connector on 2.3CL or 3-pin connector on 3.0CL and spark plug wires. Remove hold-down bolts and distributor.
To install, reverse removal procedure. Using clean engine oil, lubricate and install NEW "O" ring. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 . Install distributor, aligning distributor coupling with slot in camshaft. Connect wiring. Tighten mounting bolts. See TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS . On 2.3CL, check ignition timing. See ADJUSTMENTS article.
