Bench Testing: Rotor

Ensure rotor bearings rotate smoothly. Using an ohmmeter, check continuity between slip rings and rotor, individually. Check continuity between the slip rings and the rotor shaft, individually. See Fig 1. If continuity exists, replace rotor. Check resistance between slip rings. Resistance should be 2.9 ohms. Replace rotor if resistance is not to specification.
