A/C System Performance
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1998 Acura 3.2TL. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
- Park vehicle out of direct sunlight. Open engine hood. Open front doors. Connect A/C pressure gauges to pressure ports. Measure relative humidity and ambient air temperature.
- Move temperature control dial to coldest setting. Select vent mode. Select recirculated air position. Insert a thermometer in center vent outlet. Turn A/C switch on, and set blower switch to highest speed. Run engine at 1500 RPM. Ensure no one is inside vehicle.
- After running A/C for 10 minutes, check temperature at center vent outlet. Check A/C system pressures. If temperature and pressures match A/C system performance test chart, A/C system is operating properly at this time. See Fig 1 or Fig 2 .
