Control Unit Input Test

  1. Disable air bag system. See appropriate AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEMS article in the ACCESSORIES/SAFETY EQUIPMENT section. Turn ignition off. Remove instrument panel lower left cover. Remove left knee bolster. Cruise control unit is located near left kick panel. See Figure .
  2. Disconnect cruise control unit 14-pin connector. Ensure connector and terminals are okay. Repair as necessary and retest system. If connector and terminals are okay, use a DVOM to perform cruise control unit input tests. See Fig 1 . If an input test indicates a problem, find and correct cause and retest system. If all input test results are okay, replace cruise control unit.
