Gearshift Lever Position Switch

NOTE: Only A/T vehicles are equipped with gearshift lever position switch.
  1. Gearshift lever position switch is located on right side of gearshift lever mechanism. Remove front console. See GEARSHIFT LEVER POSITION SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect gearshift lever position switch 14-pin connector.
  2. Check for continuity between switch connector Green/White and Black wire terminals with gearshift lever in "2", "D3", and "D4" positions. Move gearshift lever back and forth at each position without touching lock button. If continuity exists within free play range of each position, gearshift lever position switch is okay. If continuity does not exist within free play range of each position, adjust switch free play and retest. See GEARSHIFT LEVER POSITION SWITCH  under ADJUSTMENTS. If continuity still does not exist, replace gearshift lever position switch. See GEARSHIFT LEVER POSITION SWITCH  under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION.
