Sunlight Sensor Testing

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 1998 Acura 3.0CL and 1998 Acura 2.3CL. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

Carefully remove sunlight sensor from instrument panel. Turn ignition on. Without disconnecting connector, measure voltage between sensor terminals with positive lead on White/Red terminal and negative lead on Yellow/Green terminal. If voltage is not 3.5-3.9 volts or greater out of direct sunlight, replace sensor. If voltage is not 3.4-3.8 volts or less in direct sunlight, replace sensor.

NOTE: The voltage will not change under artificial light of a flashlight or fluorescent lamp.
