Set/Resume/Cancel Switch

  1. Disable air bag system. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article. Remove instrument panel lower cover. Disconnect combination switch Gray 20-pin connector located under left side of instrument panel. Using an ohmmeter, check switch continuity between specified Gray 20-pin connector terminals.
  2. With SET button in ON position, continuity should exist between terminals No. 20 (Orange wire) and No. 18 (Light Green/Red wire). With RESUME button in ON position, continuity should exist between terminals No. 20 (Orange wire) and No. 17 (Light Green/Black wire). With CANCEL button in ON position, continuity should exist between terminals No. 20 (Orange wire), No. 18 (Light Green/Red wire) and No. 17 (Light Green/Black wire). If continuity does not exist, go to next step. If continuity exists, switch and clockspring are okay.
  3. Remove SET/RESUME/CANCEL switch cover. Remove 2 screws and remove SET/RESUME/CANCEL switch. Using an ohmmeter check switch continuity. With SET button in ON position, continuity should exist between switch terminals No. 1 and 3. With RESUME button in ON position, continuity should exist between switch terminals No. 1 and 2. With CANCEL button in ON position, continuity should exist between switch terminals No. 1, No. 2 and No. 3. Replace switch if continuity is not as specified. If continuity is as specified, replace clockspring. See AIR BAG RESTRAINT SYSTEM article.
