Driver's Multiplex Control Unit-To-Door Multiplex Control Unit
- Turn ignition off. Remove driver's multiplex control unit. See DRIVER'S UNDERDASH FUSE/RELAY BOX under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Remove driver's multiplex control unit from driver's underdash fuse/relay box. Remove door panel and door multiplex control unit. See DOOR PANEL under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect door multiplex control unit 20-pin connector "A". Go to next step.
- Check continuity in circuit between door multiplex control unit 20-pin harness connector "A" terminal No. 15 (Brown wire) and driver's multiplex control unit 24-pin harness connector "A" terminal No. 2 (Brown wire) at driver's underdash fuse/relay box. See Figure and Figure . If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in circuit. After repairs, recheck DTCs.
- Reconnect door multiplex control unit 20-pin connector "A". Reconnect driver's multiplex control unit to driver's underdash fuse/relay box. Turn ignition on. Backprobing, check voltage between ground and door multiplex control unit 20-pin connector "A" terminal No. 15 (Brown wire) and driver's multiplex control unit 24-pin connector "A" terminal No. 2 (Brown wire), individually. Voltage should be 3.5-9.5 volts. If voltage is as specified, communication line between driver's control nut and door multiplex control unit is okay, check system sleep and wake-up mode operation. Go to SLEEP & WAKE-UP FUNCTION . If voltage is not as specified, go to next step.
- If voltage is 9.5 volts or more, check for short to power or faulty connector connection at receiving multiplex control unit. If voltage is 3.5 volts or less, check for short to ground or faulty connector connection at transmitting multiplex control unit. If circuit and connector are okay, check for malfunctioning transmitting multiplex control unit. Repair as necessary. After repairs, recheck DTCs.
