Keyless Entry System Function

  1. Lock and unlock doors using remote transmitter. If doors lock and unlock using remote transmitter, system is okay at this time. If doors do not lock or unlock using remote transmitter, check if Light Emitting Diode (LED) on remote transmitter illuminates. If LED illuminates, go to step  3 . If LED does not illuminate, go to next step.
  2. Replace remote transmitter battery. Lock and unlock doors using remote transmitter. If doors lock and unlock using remote transmitter, system is okay at this time. If doors do not lock or unlock using remote transmitter, go to next step.
  3. If a different remote transmitter is available, go to next step. If a different remote transmitter is not available, go to step  5 .
  4. Using a different remote transmitter, lock and unlock doors. If doors lock and unlock, replace original remote transmitter. If doors do not lock and unlock, go to next step.
  5. Reprogram remote transmitter. See PROGRAMMING  . Lock and unlock doors using remote transmitter. If doors lock and unlock using remote transmitter, replace keyless receiver unit. If doors do not lock or unlock using remote transmitter, check for malfunctioning passenger's side multiplex control unit or wiring harness. See MULTIPLEX CONTROL UNIT INPUT  .
