Driver's Multiplex Control Unit-To-Passenger's Multiplex Control Unit
- Turn ignition off. Remove passenger's multiplex control unit. Passenger's multiplex control unit is located behind right kick panel. Disconnect passenger's multiplex control unit Gray 26-pin connector "A". Remove driver's underdash fuse/relay box located under instrument panel. See DRIVER'S UNDERDASH FUSE/RELAY BOX under REMOVAL & INSTALLATION. Disconnect driver's multiplex control unit from underdash fuse/relay box. Disconnect driver's multiplex control unit Gray 26-pin connector "B". Go to next step.
- Check continuity in Brown/White wire (communication line) between passenger's multiplex control unit Gray 26-pin harness connector "A" terminal No. 22 and driver's multiplex control unit Gray 26-pin harness connector "B" terminal No. 9. If continuity exists, go to next step. If continuity does not exist, repair open in circuit. After repairs, recheck DTCs.
- Reconnect passenger's multiplex control unit and driver's multiplex control unit connectors. Turn ignition on. Backprobing, check voltage between ground and passenger's multiplex control unit Gray 26-pin connector "A" terminal No. 22 (Brown/White wire) and driver's multiplex control unit Gray 26-pin connector "B" terminal No. 9 (Brown/White wire), individually. Voltage should read 4.2-6.6 volts. If voltage is as specified, communication line between driver's multiplex control unit and passenger's multiplex control unit is okay, check system sleep and wake-up mode operation. Go to SLEEP & WAKE-UP FUNCTION . If voltage is not as specified, go to next step.
- If voltage is 6.6 volts or more, check for short to power or faulty connector at receiving multiplex control unit. If voltage is 4.2 volts or less, check for short to ground or faulty connector at transmitting multiplex control unit. If circuit and connector are okay, check for malfunctioning transmitting multiplex control unit. Repair as necessary. After repairs, recheck DTCs.
