Throttle Position Sensor

NOTE: If problem in TP sensor exists, TP sensor may set DTC P0122 or P0123 in PCM. See appropriate SELF-DIAGNOSTICS article in ENGINE PERFORMANCE.

TP sensor should input a .5-volt reference signal to PCM at closed throttle, 2.3-2.7 volts at half throttle and about 4.5 volts at full throttle. Voltage should change smoothly as throttle valve is opened and closed. If voltage is not correct, check TP sensor wiring circuit. See WIRING DIAGRAMS  . Individual component testing of TP sensor is not available.
