Catalytic Converter Monitor & Readiness Code

NOTE: Do not turn ignition switch off.
NOTE: Enable criteria includes: Ensure ambient temperature is 20-95°F (-7-35°C). Engine coolant temperature at 158°F (70°C) or higher. Intake air temperature at 20°F (-7°C) or higher. Vehicle speed sensor reads more than 25 MPH.
  1. Connect Honda PGM Tester or the HDS to DLC. See Figure .
  2. Start engine and test drive vehicle under stop-and-go conditions with short periods of steady cruise. After about 5 miles readiness code should switch to passed.
  3. Using Honda PGM Tester or the HDS, check for readiness code. If readiness code is not set to complete, repeat the procedure.
