M/T Model
NOTE:
Do not pry the edge or the surface of the escutcheon plate with any tools.
- Remove these items:
- Rear console, M/T model. See REAR CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION .
- Shift knob (see step 3 of CONSOLE PANEL REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
- From the rear of the console panel (A), insert a flat tip screwdriver wrapped with protective tape through the rear console opening. Gently press one of the hooks (B) up just under the Type-S emblem (C) to release it from the console panel. Gently repeat the other side, then pull the rear edge of the escutcheon plate slightly (D) by hand.
- Pull the escutcheon plate (A) rear ward to remove the front hooks (B) from the edge of the console panel opening. Then remove the change lever boot (C) by pulling it up.
- Install the boot in the reverse order of removal. Press the rear hook portions into place securely.
