Battery Cable Reset: Procedure
NOTE:
Before you begin the battery cable reset procedure, make sure the battery is fully charged. A low battery can cause problems with electronics. Then, retrieve the anti-theft code and write down your customer's audio presets.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and remove the key.
- Disconnect the negative battery cable first, then positive.
- Using a jumper wire, short the battery cables together.
- Turn the ignition switch to ON (II), and wait 10 minutes.
- Turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0), and remove the key.
- Remove the jumper wire, and reconnect the positive battery cable first, then negative.
- Check the applicable service information, and perform the appropriate reset/learn procedures.
- Enter the anti-theft code, and restore customer settings.
