Control Unit Input Test

NOTE: Before testing, check the No. 22 (AS F/B) (70 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box, the No. 30 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box, and the No. 6 (20 A) fuse in the passenger's under-dash fuse/relay box.
  1. Remove the driver's or front passenger's seat (see FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  2. Disconnect the 26P connector (A) from the seat ventilation control unit (B).

  3. Inspect the connector and socket terminals to be sure they are all making good contact.
    • If the terminals are bent, loose or corroded, repair them as necessary, and recheck the system.
    • If the terminals look OK, go to step 4.
  4. Reconnect the 26P connector to the control unit, and do these input tests at the connector.
    • If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
    • If all the input tests prove OK, go to step 5.
    WIRE TEST CONDITION REFERENCE CHART

Cavity Wire Test condition Test: Desired result Possible cause if desired result is not obtained
12 BLK Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground: There should be less than 0.1 V.
    • Poor ground (G601) [G651]
    • An open in the wire
13 BLK Under all conditions Measure the voltage to ground: There should be less than 0.1 V.
    • Poor ground (G601) [G651]
    • An open in the wire
1 BLK/YEL [RED] Ignition switch ON (II) Measure the voltage to ground: There should be battery voltage.

  5. Disconnect the 26P connector from the control unit, and do these input tests at the connector.
    • If any test indicates a problem, find and correct the cause, then recheck the system.
    • If all the input tests prove OK, the control unit must be faulty; replace it.
