Driver's Power Seat Motor Test

NOTE: SRS components are located in this area. Review the SRS component locations (see COMPONENT LOCATION INDEX ), and precautions and procedures (see PRECAUTIONS AND PROCEDURES ) before doing repairs or servicing.
  1. Remove the driver's seat (see FRONT SEAT REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  2. Remove the back cover for recline motor (see FRONT SEAT-BACK COVER/PAD REPLACEMENT ).
  3. Disconnect the connector from each power seat motor.
    NOTE: All connectors are terminal side of male terminals.

  4. Test each motor by connecting power and ground according to the table. When the motor stops running, disconnect battery power immediately.

  5. If the slide motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, replace it (see FRONT SEAT FRAME REPLACEMENT - DRIVER'S SEAT ).
    NOTE: If the front up-down motor, the rear up-down motor, or the recline motor does not run or fails to run smoothly, replace the seat frame assembly (see FRONT SEAT FRAME REPLACEMENT - DRIVER'S SEAT ).
