Yaw Rate-Acceleration Sensor Replacement

NOTE:
  • Do not damage or drop the sensor as it is sensitive.
  • Do not use power tools.
  1. Make sure the ignition switch is in LOCK (0).
  2. Remove the center console panel (see CENTER CONSOLE REMOVAL/INSTALLATION ).
  3. Remove the shift lever mounting bolts (see step 7 on SHIFT LEVER REMOVAL ).
    NOTE: Only remove items needed to gain access.
  4. Remove the shift lever bracket base mounting bolts, and then disconnect the yaw rate-acceleration sensor 5P connector (A).

  5. Pull out the shift lever bracket base (B) with the yaw rate-acceleration sensor (C).
  6. Remove the yaw rate-acceleration sensor mounting bolts, then remove the yaw rate-acceleration sensor from the shift lever bracket base.
  7. Install the yaw rate-acceleration sensor in the reverse order of removal.
  8. Do the VSA sensor neutral position memorization (see VSA SENSOR NEUTRAL POSITION MEMORIZATION  ).
  9. Do the yaw rate-acceleration neutral position memorization for SH-AWD system (see SH-AWD® DIFFERENTIAL CLUTCH TORQUE MEMORIZATION ).
