In-car Temperature Sensor Test

NOTE: Before testing the sensor, check for climate control DTCs (see HOW TO CHECK FOR DTCS WITH THE HDS  ).
  1. Remove the humidity/in-car temperature sensor (see HUMIDITY/IN-CAR TEMPERATURE SENSOR REPLACEMENT  ).
  2. Test the humidity/in-car temperature sensor while holding it in front of the dashboard center vent.
    • Measure the resistance with the system set to Max Cool.
    • Measure the resistance with the system set to Max Hot.
  3. Compare the resistance reading between terminals No. 3 and No. 4 of the humidity/in-car temperature sensor with the specifications shown in the graph in illustration below; the resistance should be within the specifications.

  4. If the resistance is not as specified, replace the humidity/in-car temperature sensor (see HUMIDITY/IN-CAR TEMPERATURE SENSOR REPLACEMENT  ).
  5. Clear any DTCs set when you disconnected the humidity/in-car temperature sensor.
