NAVIGATION DISPLAY UNIT 28P CONNECTOR

Terminal Number Wire Color Terminal Name Description Voltage (about) Symptom
1 WHT + B (+ B power source) Continuous power source Battery voltage If open: Screen completely off (no backlight visible).
If short to ground: Blows the No. 15 (10 A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box.
2 PUR ACC (Accessory) Power source for accessory Battery voltage at ACC mode If open: Display and buttons do not work.
If short to ground: Blows the No. 18 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.
3 WHT SCTY2 (Security) Security signal from audio-navigation unit 0 V If open: The security system sets, and does not trip when navigation display unit is removed.
If short to ground: The security system sets, and does not trip when navigation display unit is removed.
4 BLU GA-NET BUS2- (Display bus negative) Data bus (-) GA-Net 0-5 V pulses average 2.5 V (depends on bus traffic) If open/short: System Links Display icon shows red.
GA-Net related system do not work.
5 PNK GA-NET BUS2 + (Display bus positive) Data bus(+) GA-Net 0-5 V pulses average 2.5 V (depends on bus traffic) If open/short: System Links Display icon shows red.
GA-Net related system do not work.
7 RED CAMERA BIT 1 (Mode select signal) Mode select signal for rearview camera Top down view: 8 V If open: No change to rearview camera image.
If short to ground: No change to rearview camera image.
9 YEL CAMERA ADAPT (Adaptive camera) Control signal for rearview camera 0 V If open: No change to rearview camera image.
If short to ground: No change to rearview camera image.
10 GRY(1) SIG SH (Shield signal) Shield for terminals No. 11, No. 12, No. 23, No. 24, and No. 25 0 V If open/short to ground: No effect on system.
11 YEL B-SIG (Blue signal) Blue color signal 0.7 AC average in RGB color diagnosis If open: Blue color missing (see RGB color diagnosis).
If short to ground: Blue color missing (see RGB color diagnosis).
12 GRN R-SIG (Red signal) Red color signal 0.7 AC average in RGB color diagnosis If open: Red color missing (see RGB color diagnosis).
If short to ground: Red color missing (see RGB color diagnosis).
13 GRY(1) CAMERA SH (Camera shield) Shield for terminals No. 9, No. 14, No. 26, No. 27, No. 28 0 V If open/short to ground: No effect on system.
14 WHT CAMERA V (NTSC signal) Video signal from rearview camera 1 V AC If short to ground: No change to rearview camera image.
If open: No change to rearview camera image.
15 BLK GND (Ground) Ground for navigation display unit (G501) 0 V If open: No change to display.
If short to ground: No change to display.
16 ORN NAVI ILLUMI + (Illumination positive) Parking light on signal from dash and console lights Lights on: Battery voltage.
Lights off: 0 V
If open: When brightness=Auto, night mode for the display is inoperative when lights on.
If short to ground: Auto, night mode for the display is inoperative when lights on.
17 LT GRN SCTY1 (Security) Security signal from passenger's MICU 0 V If open: The security system sets, and does not trip when the navigation display unit is removed.
If short to ground: The security system sets, and does not trip when the navigation display unit is removed.
18 GRY(1) GA-NET BUS2 SH (GA-Net bus shield) Shield for terminals No. 4 and No. 5 0 V If open/short to ground: No effect on system.
20 LT BLU CAMERA BIT 0 (Mode select signal) Mode select signal for rearview camera Normal view: 8 V If open: No change to rearview camera image.
If short to ground: No change to rearview camera image.
22 BRN BACK LT (Back light or reverse signal) Reverse signal of select lever from reverse relay In R position: Battery voltage, Otherwise: 0 V If open: Navigation never sees reverse. Diagnostic screen Car Status, Back=0. If short to ground: Blows the No. 5 (7.5 A) fuse in the driver's under-dash fuse/relay box.
23 BRN C-SIG (Composite signal) Composite video (vertical/ horizontal) synchronizing signal 0.7 AC average in RGB color diagnosis If open: Picture rolls horizontally, colors still visible.
If short to ground: Picture rolls horizontally, colors still visible.
24 WHT G-SIG (Green signal) Green color signal 0.7 AC average in RGB color diagnosis If open: Green color missing (see RGB color diagnosis).
If short to ground: Green color missing (see RGB color diagnosis).
25 BLU RGBC GND (Ground signal) Ground for display unit 0 V If open: No change to display.
If short to ground: No change to display.
26 GRN CAMERA VCC (VCC supply) Power source for rearview camera 8 V If short to ground: When put into reverse, the navigation screen goes back (backlight still operates).
If open: When put into reverse, the navigation screen goes back (backlight still operates).
27 BLK CAMERA GND (Ground) Ground for rearview camera 0 V If open: No change to rearview camera image.
If short to ground: No change to rearview camera image.
28 RED VCC GND (Ground camera) Ground for camera signal 0 V If open: No change to rearview camera image.
If short to ground: No change to rearview camera image.
(1) The shielded wires have a heat-shrink tube insulating the outside of the wire. The color of the insulating tube, typically black or dark gray, may not match the color of the wire listed on the circuit diagram.
