FTP Sensor Functional Inspection

Test Procedure

    FTP sensor: removed with its connector connected

• Procedure
• • Connect the T-fitting (A) to the vacuum pump/gauge, 0-30 inHg (B), and the vacuum/pressure gauge, 0-4 inHg (C) to the FTP sensor (D) as shown.
  • Turn the vehicle to the ON mode.
  • Confirm the HDS [FTP Sensor].
  • Slowly apply about 1.3 kPa (0.4 inHg, 10 mmHg) of vacuum to the hose.

    NOTE:  Be careful not to exceed the vacuum. If you do, the FTP sensor can be damaged.

  • Confirm the [FTP Sensor].

Results 

• If it is abnormal, there is a problem with the FTP sensor.
