Removal And Installation: Module

NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, use a diagnostic scan tool to perform the Flash Programming Procedure (if available). This will confirm that the module is updated to the latest applicable software level.

REMOVAL 

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Remove the front fascia. Refer to FASCIA, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .

  3. Disconnect the Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) module (1b) wire harness connector (1a) located on the lower right side of the cross member.
    NOTE:

    Avoid pressing the center zone of the module. Operate only on the side edges.

  4. Release the wire harness (2b) from the wire harness retainer (2a).

  5. Remove the module (1a) by pulling it outwards to release the three anchoring pins (1b).

INSTALLATION 

  1. Inspect the ACC module and wire harness connector integrity.

  2. Position the module (1a) and insert the anchor pins (1b).
    NOTE:

    During the assembly do not apply pressure on the pins toward the inside of the ACC module, as this could cause the ACC module cover to partially come off.

  3. Install the wire harness (2b) to the wire harness retainer (2a).
  4. Connect the wire harness connector (3a) to the ACC module (1a).
  5. Install the front fascia. Refer to FASCIA, FRONT, REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION .
  6. Connect the negative battery cable.
  7. Perform the ACC module calibration procedure. Refer to MODULE, ADAPTIVE CRUISE CONTROL (ACC), MODULE PROGRAMMING .
NOTE:

If this Electronic Control Unit (ECU) is being replaced with a new unit, a diagnostic scan tool MUST be used to determine if alignment of the PROXI configuration data into the new ECU is needed. If PROXI alignment is needed, follow the routine outlined in the diagnostic scan tool for PROXI Configuration Alignment under the Body Control Module (BCM) Miscellaneous Functions menu.
