Oxygen Sensor

Oxygen (O2) sensor is heated type sensor which measures oxygen content of exhaust gases. Control unit uses data from O2 sensor to determine air fuel mixture. Sensor is positioned in exhaust system just ahead of catalytic converter (except CIS--E III system).

On CIS-E III system vehicles with manual transmission, O2 sensor is located on exhaust pipe just ahead of catalytic converter. On vehicles with automatic transmission, O2 sensor is located at front of catalytic converter.
