CO - Content, Checking

CO-CONTENT, CHECKING

Note
There is no CO tab tube installed in this vehicle. To perform this check install CO tap tube.

CO-content CANNOT be manually adjusted.

- connect VAG 1363 CO tester (or EPA approved equivalent) to the right side CO tap.

- check CO content

^ specified value: 0.3 to 1.2 Vol.%

- switch tester connection to left side CO tap and repeat CO check.

^ specified value: 0.3 to 1.2 Vol.%

If CO-content is less than 0.3

- check for air leaks around the CO tap or test adapter connected to the CO tester.

It CO-content exceeds 1.2

- check for exhaust leaks between the engine and the Oxygen sensor.

If CO-content is approx. 1.7

- check for faulty spark plug.

If specification is NOT obtained

- activate DTC memory again Repair Group 01 (Fuel and Ignition).

If NO code stored in DTC memory

- perform "reading measuring value block'1 using VAG 1551 Scan Tool to pull up measuring value block 4.

- observe value in channel 8 (Oxygen sensor), -> Repair Group 01 (Fuel and Ignition) for additional information.
