01N Transmission

The system must be returned to basic setting after replacing any of the following components:
^ Engine
^ Engine Control Module (ECM)
^ Throttle valve control module -J338-
^ Transmission Control Module (TCM) -J217-

Requirements:
^ Battery Positive Voltage (B+) OK
^ All electrical consumers switched off
^ Accelerator pedal cable adjustment OK
^ DTC memory checked, malfunctions corrected, DTC memory erased

Procedure:
- Connect VAG1551 scan tool, insert "Transmission Electronics" address word 02, and advance through program until "Select function XX" is displayed.

Select function XX

- Press buttons -0- and -4- to select "Basic Setting" function 04.

NOTE: Accelerator pedal must remain in closed throttle position.

- Press -Q- button to confirm input.

Input display group number XXX

- Press -0- button three times to input display group no. 000.
- Press -Q- button to confirm input.

Indicated on display (system is now in basic setting mode):

System in Basic Setting ->

- Push accelerator pedal down until kick down and hold in this position for 3 seconds.
- Press -> button.

The system has now been returned to its basic settings.
