NOTES:
^ The wheel slip information to the Automatic Traction Control (ATC) is calculated in the ABS Control Module. If slip is recognized, a torque reduction value from the Engine Control Module (ECM) is requested by the ABS Control Module. This torque reduction is divided into 12 reducing stages.
^ With cold engine, engine coolant temperature less than 20°C (68°F), the reduction of the engine torque is achieved at small reducing stages (1-5) by an ignition angle retard, and at large reducing stages (6-12) by briefly shutting OFF individual fuel injectors.
^ With warm engine, engine coolant temperature greater than 40°C (104°F), the reduction of the engine torque is achieved only by briefly switching OFF individual fuel injectors.
