Checking Fluid Level: Notes

CAUTION: Part numbers are listed for reference only. Always check with your Parts department for latest information.
NOTE: Only ATF with designation (ESSO LT 71141) can be added to ATF. Additives cannot be used.
NOTE: ATF level is affected by ATF temperature. Checking ATF level at too low a temperature leads to overfilling. Checking ATF level at too high a temperature leads to under filling. Overfilling or under filling transaxle can lead to transaxle malfunction. ATF temperature can be read with Vehicle Diagnostic, Test and Information System or at display of VAG (1551) Scan Tool.
NOTE: V.A.G. Scan Tool (1551) is required to check ATF level. Scan tool is used to measure ATF temperature. Follow aftermarket scan tool manufacturer instructions (if applicable) to check ATF temperature.
