Track Control Arm, Guide Link and Level Control System Sensor, Assembly Overview
1 - Subframe
- Assembly overview → Subframe, Engine Carrier, Coupling and Stabilizer Bar, Assembly Overview
2 - Guide Link
- Removing and installing → Guide Link, Removing and Installing
- Replace hydraulic mount if it leaks → 75 mm Guide Link Bearing, Replacing .
3 - Bolt
- 70 Nm plus an additional 180 (1/2 turn)
- Always replace
- Lift wheel bearing housing before fastening → Wheel Bearing Housing, Raising to Control Position
4 - Self-locking nut, 120 Nm
- Always replace
- If guide link is not replaced, remove locking compound from ball joint threads first.
5 - Self-locking nut
- Always replace
6 - Air Spring Damper
7 - Self-locking nut
- Always replace
8 - Wheel Bearing Housing
- Removing and installing → Wheel Bearing Housing, Removing and Installing
- Wheel Bearing Housing and Wheel Bearing Unit, Assembly Overview → Wheel Bearing Housing and Wheel Bearing Unit, Assembly Overview
- Wheel bearing unit, removing and installing → Wheel Bearing Unit, Removing and Installing
9 - Self-locking nut, 120 Nm
- Always replace
- If track control arm is not replaced, remove locking compound from ball joint threads first.
10 - Self-locking nut
- 40 Nm plus an additional 90 (1/4 turn)
- Always replace
- Lift wheel bearing housing before fastening → Wheel Bearing Housing, Raising to Control Position
11 - Connecting link
- Right and left are the same
- Installed position → Coupling installation location
- Removing and installing → Coupling, Removing and Installing
12 - Bolt
- 40 Nm plus an additional 90 (1/4 turn)
- Always replace
- Lift wheel bearing housing before fastening → Wheel Bearing Housing, Raising to Control Position
13 - Stabilizer bar
- With cast rubber bushing and clamp
- Removing and installing → Stabilizer Bar, Removing and Installing
- Note different suspension versions → PR Number Explanations .
14 - Control Arm
- Removing and installing → Track Control Arm, Removing and Installing
- Replace bearing → Control Arm Bearing, Replacing
15 - Self-locking nut
- 70 Nm plus an additional 180 (1/2 turn)
- Always replace
- Lift wheel bearing housing before fastening → Wheel Bearing Housing, Raising to Control Position
16 - Bolt
- Always replace
17 - Bolt
- Always replace
18 - Self-locking nut, 8 Nm
- Always replace
19 - Bolt
- 90 Nm plus an additional 90 (1/4 turn)
- Always replace
- Lift wheel bearing housing before fastening → Wheel Bearing Housing, Raising to Control Position
20 - Bolt, 5 Nm
21 - Left front level control system sensor G78 and right front level control system sensor G289
- Note that there are different versions with a "long" or "short" lever.
Only use the same version of the sensor. Do not install both versions together.
- Only remove and install or replace completely → Front Level Control System Sensor, Removing and Installing
- The sensor lever must face forward.
