Read readiness code

Test sequence

Connect the vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051. Refer to Vehicle diagnostic, testing and information system VAS 5051, connecting and selecting functions , and select the vehicle system "01 - Engine electronics" from the menu. When doing this the engine should be idling.

Select diagnosis function "08 - Read data block" from the menu -1-.

1 - Enter display group

(figures up to 255)

Using the keypad -2-, enter "086" for "Display group number 086" and confirm entry with Q button.

Note on display zone 1:

Display zone 1 is of main importance. This display indicates which component was tested by On Board Diagnostic since the last time the DTC memory was erased or a new control module was installed. After erasing the DTC memory, all test values (except the values which cannot be tested) are set to "1". After performing the test procedure successfully all values are set to "0".

NOTE: The readiness code has only been successfully generated if all digits in display zone 1 are set to "0".

If the specification "0 0 0 0 0 0 0 0" is attained:

Press the ← button.
To make sure, check DTC memory. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory, checking (function 02) (no faults should be stored).

If the specification is not attained:

Generate readiness code. Refer to Generate readiness code
