  1. Wiring Harness Of Automatically Regulated A/C System
    • Different versions (e.g. with or without connection to Auxiliary Air Heater Control Module -J604-, with and without Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor -G89-, with and without connection to Air Flow Door Motor -V71-, etc.).
    • Mark the allocation before disconnecting the connectors (to prevent confusing connectors of same shape for different motors and temperature sensor).
    • Secure wiring harness to mounting points provided on housing (using cable ties, or on mounts) so that it does not come into contact with moving components.
      NOTE:
      • From model year 2006, the Fresh Air Intake Duct Temperature Sensor -G89- has been gradually discontinued, on vehicles without this temperature sensor, only the Climatronic Control Module -J255- with part no. as of index M is or may be installed.
      • On vehicles without fresh air intake duct temperature sensor, a Climatronic control module with part number up to index L installed enters a DTC into the DTC memory.
      • Up to the end of model year 2007, the air flow door (fresh air door) was moved by Air Flow Door Motor -V71-. From the end of model year 2007, the air flow door motor is being discontinued as a running change. On vehicles without the air flow door motor the air flow door is actuated via a curved washer and lever of the Recirculation Door Motor -V113-, refer to RECIRCULATION DOOR MOTOR . Therefore note the correct allocation of the Climatronic control module. If the allocation or the adaptation is not OK this is detected during basic setting and stored as a malfunction.
  2. Heating A/C Unit With Evaporator (Of Automatically Regulated A/C System)
    • Different versions of heating A/C unit in vehicles with manually and automatically regulated A/C system.
    • Removing and installing, refer to HEATING AND A/C UNIT .
    • Heating and A/C unit, disassembling and assembling, refer to A/C UNIT .
    • Disassembling and assembling evaporator housing, refer to EVAPORATOR HOUSING .
  3. Auxiliary Heater Heating Element -Z35- with Auxiliary Air Heater Control Module -J604-
    • Only on diesel vehicles.
    • The electric auxiliary air heater is available in different versions. On vehicles equipped with a diesel engine built through November 2006 (running change) the control of the auxiliary heater heating element is via the auxiliary air heater control module. Check using Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 in "Guided Fault Finding" function. On diesel vehicles built from November 2006 (running change) have a 3-stage auxiliary heater heating element which is controlled by a relay from the Engine Control Module (ECM). Refer to Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051 in "Guided Fault Finding" function and refer to the appropriate SYSTEM WIRING DIAGRAMS information.
    • At this time, an auxiliary heater heating element is also installed in vehicles with Diesel engine and parking heater as optional equipment. At a later point in time (not yet finalized), the auxiliary heater heating element will be discontinued, then the parking heater undertakes the function of the auxiliary heater.
    • Check the auxiliary air heater control module, perform Guided Fault Finding using Vehicle Diagnosis, Testing and Information System VAS 5051.
    • Removing and installing, refer to AUXILIARY HEATER HEATING ELEMENT WITH CONTROL MODULE .
  4. Cover For Coolant Pipes And Heater Core
    • This illustration shows version for vehicles with Auxiliary Heater Heating Element -Z35-.
    • Different versions for vehicles with or without auxiliary heater heating element (opening for auxiliary heater heating element is sealed by this cover in vehicles without auxiliary heater heating element).
  5. Screw
  6. Central Air Door Motor -V70-
  7. Left Temperature Door Motor -V158-
  8. Connecting Rod to Left Temperature Door Motor -V158-
    • Color identification: white (longer than connecting rod to Right Temperature Door Motor -V159-).
  9. Defroster Door Motor -V107-
    • With Defroster Door Motor Position Sensor -G135-.
    • Lever color identification: blue.
    • Removing and installing, refer to DEFROSTER DOOR MOTOR .
      NOTE:

This motor is fastened on the right on air distributor housing in vehicles with right-side steering.

  10. Connecting Rod to Defroster door motor -V107-
    • Color identification: blue.
  11. Left Footwell Vent Temperature Sensor -G261-

  13. Cover and Bracket for Air Flow Door Motor -V71- and Recirculation Door Motor -V113-
    • Removing and installing (refer to Recirculation Door Motor -V113-, removing) AIR FLOW DOOR MOTOR AND POTENTIOMETER .
    • After installing, check both control motors which must be held in position by this bracket, if they are not installed free of play, use some foam to correct play if necessary, attaching it to inside of mounting points of bracket, refer to AIR FLOW DOOR MOTOR AND POTENTIOMETER .
    • Cover is installed only on version with Air Flow Door Motor -V71- (Recirculation Door Motor -V113- is bolted firmly on intake housing on version without air flow door motor), refer to AIR FLOW DOOR MOTOR AND POTENTIOMETER .
    • Up to the end of model year 2007, the back pressure door was moved by Back Pressure Door Motor -V71-. From the end of model year 2007, the air flow door motor is being discontinued as a running change. On vehicles without the air flow door motor the air flow door is actuated via a curved washer and lever of the recirculation door motor, refer to RECIRCULATION DOOR MOTOR .
