Engine Mount, Removing And Installing: Removing
When installing, bring all cable ties back to same positions.
-- Position the front wheels so they are straight.
Danger of causing damage to electronic components.
- Complete the steps for disconnecting the battery.
-- Disconnect the battery Ground (GND) cable -2-, refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
-- Support the engine in its installed position, refer to ENGINE, SUPPORTING IN INSTALLED POSITION .
-- Remove the left and right front wheel housing liners completely, refer to FRONT WHEEL HOUSING LINER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the noise insulations -1 and 2-, refer to NOISE INSULATION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the left and right drive axles from the transmission flange shaft, refer to DRIVE AXLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the left and right front underbody panels -2-, refer to UNDERBODY TRIM PANELS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the left and right lower longitudinal member, refer to OVERVIEW - LOCK CARRIER .
-- Remove the connector -1- (if equipped) from the bracket and disconnect.
-- Remove the fuel injectors connector -2- to the steering gear and disconnect it.
-- Disconnect the left and right connector -arrow- from the Left Front Level Control System Sensor -G78- /Right Front Level Control System Sensor -G289- and free up the wire.
-- Remove the left and right stabilizer bar bolt -1-.
Ignore items -2 and 3-.
-- Remove the left and right bolt -3- from the transmission mount brace.
Ignore items -1 and 2-.
Vehicles through MY 2013:
-- Remove the power steering hydraulic line bolt -arrow-.
All Vehicles:
-- Remove the bolts -1 and 2- and if equipped the nut -arrow-.
The suspension components could be damaged.
- Do not rest the vehicle on its wheels if the subframe mount, the steering gear or the subframe crossbrace are not installed correctly.
-- Free up the connectors -1 and 2- for Transmission Mount Valve 1 -N262- /Transmission Mount Valve 2 -N263-.
-- Remove the steering intermediate shaft from the steering gear push them upward, refer to STEERING INTERMEDIATE SHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
A vehicle through MY 2013 is illustrated.
Vehicles through MY 2013:
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- from the hydraulic pipe.
All Vehicles:
-- Remove the bolt -arrow- from the left engine mount.
-- If equipped, disconnect and free up the connector -1-.
-- Remove the right engine mount bolt -2-.
-- Support the subframe using Engine and Gearbox Jack VAS 6931 as shown in the illustration.
-- Mark the location of the subframe to the longitudinal members using a felt-tip pen.
-- Remove the left and right subframe bolts -1, 2 and 3- in a diagonal sequence.
The suspension components could be damaged.
- Do not rest the vehicle on its wheels if the subframe mount, the steering gear or the subframe crossbrace are not installed correctly.
-- Lower the subframe with the Engine and Transmission Jack VAS 6931 just enough until the engine mount is accessible.
Make sure there is enough clearance for the left hydraulic hoses and right electric wires
-- Free up the electric wire for the electrohydraulic engine mount solenoid valve.
-- Remove the nut -1- and bolt -2-.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and engine mount.
