CONDITION
On a vehicle with dynamic steering (PR-1N7 or PR-1N8):
- The steering angle sensor -G85- in address 03 (Brake Electronics) cannot be calibrated.
- The steering end stops in address 44 (Power Steering) cannot be adapted.
TECHNICAL BACKGROUND
Various DTCs in the ESP, steering system, instrument cluster or running gear control unit can require calibration of the steering angle sensor -G85-. In addition, the steering angle sensor -G85- must be calibrated after being replaced. Until the steering angle sensor -G85- is calibrated, various DTCs (such as "end stops not adapted") will be stored in address 44 (Power Steering).
PRODUCTION SOLUTION
Not applicable.
SERVICE
Note that in vehicles with dynamic steering, calibration of the steering angle sensor -G85- is done in address 1B (Dynamic Steering), but ODIS may not recognize that the vehicle has dynamic steering and therefore will not direct the user to address 1B.
Tip: In vehicles without dynamic steering, calibration of the steering angle sensor -G85- is done in address 03 or address 44.
