Selector Mechanism Overview
Before disassembling the selector mechanism, perform check, refer to GEARSHIFT MECHANISM, CHECKING .
CAUTION:
Danger of causing damage to electric components in the selector mechanism by the electrostatic discharge.
- Do not touch the connectors.
- Disassemble the removed selector mechanism on ESD Work Surface VAS 6613.
- Pay attention to the instructions for ESD Work Surface VAS 6613, refer to ESD Work Surface VAS 6613 .

- Clipped inside the selector lever handle upper section
- Removing and installing, refer to Selector Lever Release Button -E681- AND Selector Lever Transmission Range Position Display Unit -Y26-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
- Selector Lever Handle Upper Section
- Removing and installing, refer to SELECTOR LEVER HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
- Selector Lever Release Button -E681- and Selector Lever Transmission Range Position Display Unit -Y26-
- Can be replaced only as a unit
- Removing and installing, refer to Selector Lever Release Button -E681- AND Selector Lever Transmission Range Position Display Unit -Y26-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- The Selector Lever Release Button -E681- unlocks the selector lever. The lever is unlocked electrically.
- The Selector Lever Transmission Range Position Display Unit -Y26- displays the current drive position.

- Special bolts, without a normal thread, may be replaced only with Original bolts.
- Selector Lever Handle Lower Section

- Special bolts, without a normal thread, may be replaced only with Original bolts.
- Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module -J587- with Selector Lever Position Sensor -G727-
- Use the ESD Work Surface VAS 6613 for the removal
- Removing and installing, refer to Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module -J587- AND Selector Lever Position Sensor -G727-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING

- Tightening specification and sequence, refer to Fig 2
- Selector Mechanism Function Unit
- Can only be replaced as a unit
- With Selector Lever -E313-, Selector Lever Solenoid 1 -N496-, Selector Lever Solenoid 2 -N497-, Selector Lever Solenoid 3 -N498-, Selector Lever Solenoid 4 -N499-, Selector Lever Solenoid 5 -N500-
- Removing and installing, refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Cover Strip
-- Tighten the bolts to 1.1 Nm in the following sequence: -1 to 4-.

Always follow the procedure for installation exactly, refer to Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module -J587- AND Selector Lever Position Sensor -G727-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
