Overview - Control Module And Hydraulic Unit
Do not bend the brake lines past their form or damage them.
A bent or damaged brake line must be replaced.
ABS Control Module -J104- :
With integrated Brake Pressure Sensor 1 -G201-
With integrated Transverse Acceleration Sensor -G200-
With integrated Rotation Rate Sensor -G202-
With integrated Longitudinal Acceleration Sensor -G251-
With integrated Electromechanical Parking Brake Control Module -J540-
The components cannot be changed individually or removed.
If the ABS Control Module -J104- is being replaced, select the Replace function for the ABS Control Module -J104-. Refer to Guided Functions using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
If the ABS Control Module -J104- is faulty, it can be replaced separately.
If the ABS Hydraulic Unit -N55- is faulty, it must be replaced together with the ABS Control Module -J104-.
- Brake Booster
- Refer to BRAKE BOOSTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Brake Line
- Brake master cylinder/primary piston circuit to hydraulic unit
- Identification: 6.5 mm diameter and union bolt with long M12x1 thread
- Labeled on hydraulic unit with "HZ1"
- Refer to BRAKE LINES ON BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER - TIGHTENING SPECIFICATION
- Brake Line
- Brake master cylinder/secondary piston circuit to hydraulic unit
- Identification: 6.5 mm diameter and union bolt with long M12x1 thread
- Labeled on hydraulic unit with "HZ2"
- Refer to BRAKE LINES ON BRAKE MASTER CYLINDER - TIGHTENING SPECIFICATION
- Brake Line
- To the right front brake caliper
- Identification: 5.25 mm diameter and union bolt with M10x1 thread
- Labeled on hydraulic unit with "VR"
- Refer to BRAKE LINES ON HYDRAULIC UNIT, TIGHTENING SPECIFICATION AND SEQUENCE
- Brake Line
- To the left rear brake caliper
- Identification: 5.25 mm diameter and union bolt with short M12x1 thread
- Labeled on hydraulic unit with "HL"
- Refer to BRAKE LINES ON HYDRAULIC UNIT, TIGHTENING SPECIFICATION AND SEQUENCE
- Brake Line
- To the right rear brake caliper
- Identification: 5.25 mm diameter and union bolt with M10x1 thread
- Labeled on hydraulic unit with "HR"
- Refer to BRAKE LINES ON HYDRAULIC UNIT, TIGHTENING SPECIFICATION AND SEQUENCE
- Brake Line
- To the left front brake caliper
- Identification: 5.25 mm diameter and union bolt with short M12x1 thread
- Labeled on hydraulic unit with "VL"
- Refer to BRAKE LINES ON HYDRAULIC UNIT, TIGHTENING SPECIFICATION AND SEQUENCE
