NOTE:

Applies to certain countries only. Refer to the Maintenance table.

DTC memory not erased.

NOTE:

The measured values needed will be erased when the DTC memory is cleared.

Bank 1 measured value (4-cylinder engine) and bank 1 and bank 2 measured values (V6 and V8 engines) are monitored.

-- :VAS 50XX/60XX Connecting. Refer to Vehicle Diagnostic Tester .

-- Select Guided Functions.

-- Select brand and type.

-- Select the engine electronics or the name of the injection and ignition system.

-- Select Read Measured Values.

-- Select displayable measured value (4-cylinder engine) "IDE 00597" or long term adaptation of bank 1 mixture formation.

-- Follow the guided program.

-- Select displayable measured value (V6 and V8 engines) "IDE 00597" or long term adaptation of bank 1 mixture formation "IDE 00598" or long term adaptation of bank 2 mixture formation.

-- Press Complete .

-- Press Read .

-- Read the measured value or measured values.

NOTE:

If the bank 1 measured value or the bank 1 and bank 2 measured value differ by more than 15%, then additive G17 must be increased by a factor of 4. Refer to FUEL INJECTOR CLEANER G17 .

CAUTION:

If a deviation of > 15% is repeated, then a repair is necessary.
