2. Checking the Ignition Switch Key Lock
-- Pull the parking brake button to activate the electro-mechanical parking brake.
-- Do not press the brake pedal.
-- Press the key briefly in the ignition lock to reach the "ignition on" position.
-- Press the brake pedal and hold.
- It must be possible to move the selector lever out of "P" without "getting stuck" when the locking button in the selector lever handle is pressed.
-- Switch the ignition off.
- It should not be possible to remove the ignition key when the selector lever is in any other position than "P".
-- Move the selector lever into "P" position.
-- Remove the ignition key.
- The ignition key must only be able to be removed in selector lever position "P".
- The selector lever does not move out of "P" even though both the locking button and the brake pedal are pressed.
If the ignition switch key lock does not work as described:
