Overview - Emissions Control System

- Catalytic Converter
- Align the exhaust system without tension. Refer to EXHAUST SYSTEM, INSTALLING WITHOUT TENSION .
- There are different versions.
- Protect catalytic converter from shocks and impact stress

- Catalytic Converter
- On vehicles with a particulate filter the front exhaust pipe with catalytic converter is one unit with the particulate filter.
- Protect catalytic converter from shocks and impact stress
- Removing and Installing. Refer to CATALYTIC CONVERTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Vehicles with particulate filter: after replacing reset the ash load value. Use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester 01 - Engine Electronics, Functions , 01 - Mechanical Engine, Functions
- Nut
Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 4.

- Replace if damaged
- There are different versions.
- Bolt
- 20 Nm
Installation Position for Front Clamping Sleeve
-- Install the clamping sleeve in the position shown.
- Angle -α- = approximately 20°.
- Threaded connection to the right.
- The nuts are toward the top.
Installed Location of the Catalytic Converter Screw Clamp
- Angle -α- = 30°.
Catalytic Converter - Tightening Specification and Sequence
-- Tighten the threaded connections in steps in the sequence shown:

| 2. | -2- | Tighten the screw-type clamp to 15 Nm. |
