6.2.3 Baseplate for Distance Regulation Control Module - J428-, Removing and Installing, Version 2 through MY 2016

Special tools and workshop equipment required

Removing

Remove the distance regulation control module. Refer to 6.2.1 Distance Regulation Control Module - J428-, Removing and Installing .
Release the retaining tabs -1- in direction of -arrow-.
Remove the cover -2- from the distance regulation control module -3-.
Release the locking mechanisms -2- in direction of -arrows-.
Remove the distance regulation control module from the stud bolts -1-.
Remove the retaining plate -3- from the Distance Regulation Control Module - J428- -4-.

Installing

Install in the reverse order of removal. Note the following:

NOTE:

Replace the quick release.
The stud bolts in the adapter frame are pre-set. If necessary, correct the setting.
- Place the control module on a soft and clean surface.
- Measure the dimension -a- at all stud bolts using the - VAS6335- and correct if necessary.
Dimension -a- = 40.3 ± 0.5 mm
Position the retaining plate -3- onto the distance regulation control module -1-.
Carefully press the new quick release -4- onto the stud bolt -2-.
Turn the quick release clockwise onto the retaining plate to the stop -arrow-.
