Shift Mechanism, Removing And Installing: Installing
Install in the reverse order of removal while noting the following:
- Replace the gearshift lever cable lock washer after removal.
- Do not bend or kink the selector lever cable.
- Do not lubricate the selector lever cable.
- After installation the selector mechanism, the selector lever cable must be checked for ease of movement and adjusted.
-- Insert the selector lever cable -1- in the cable bracket -4- and install a new lock washer -3-.
-- Press the selector lever cable -1- carefully onto the selector lever -2-.
-- If removed, install the cable bracket -4- with the bolts -5- on the transmission.
-- Engage the selector lever cable -1- in the clip of the bracket -2-.
-- Install the air filter housing. Refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the center console. Refer to CENTER CONSOLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Install the selector lever handle. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER HANDLE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Adjust the selector lever cable. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, CHECKING AND ADJUSTING .
-- Check the selector mechanism. Refer to SHIFT MECHANISM, CHECKING .
