Windshield Spray Pattern, Checking, Wet Wiper Arm
The wet wiper arms are equipped with multiple nozzles. To check the spray pattern, the front nozzles -1- for the upward and downward movement on each wiper arm must be checked.
Procedure :
-- Activate the windshield washer system and assess the spray pattern.
- For the upward and downward movement of the wiper arms, the stream of the frontmost upper or lower nozzle -arrows- must hit the window glass at a separate distance -point-.
- The nozzle stream must hit the windshield and may not go over the window edge.
- Window cleaning fluid must also come out of the remaining nozzles on the wiper arms during upward and downward movement.
-- If the spray pattern does not meet these specifications, adjust the spray nozzles. Refer to WINDSHIELD SPRAY PATTERN, ADJUSTING, WET WIPER ARM .
NOTE:
When the wiper arms move upward, only the upper nozzles spray; when moving downward, only the lower wiper arm nozzles.
If there is a customer concern, connect the diagnostic tester (refer to VEHICLE DIAGNOSTIC TESTER, CONNECTING ) and perform the actuator test to check the spray pattern precisely.
