Overview - Windshield
The following dimensions represent the distances at the marked points. This must also be oriented to the layout of the original adhesive bead on the removed component.
- Windshield
- Distance to roof frame: dimension -b- = 2.5 mm
- Center the side distance to the A-pillars
- Adhesive Bead
- Observe the minimum curing time. Refer to MINIMUM CURING TIMES FOR BONDED WINDOWS .
- Note the different distances to the window edge
- Dimension -a- = 7.5 mm
- Dimension -c- = 7 mm
- Dimension -d- = 7.5 mm
- Adhesive bead thickness. Refer to Adhesive Application: .
- Roof Frame
- Molding
- Must not be damaged in the visible area
- Drip Rail
- Removing and installing. Refer to DRIP RAIL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Plenum Chamber Cover
- Press in retaining strip only after minimum curing time for the window adhesive is reached.
- Remove the protective piping before assembling. Refer to Fig 1.
- Removing and installing. Refer to PLENUM CHAMBER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Plenum Chamber Cover Frame
- No replacement part
- With a new window glass remove the protective piping. Refer to Fig 1.
Protective Molding, Removing
-- For a new windshield -3-, the protective molding -1- must first be removed from the frame -2- before assembling the plenum chamber cover.
