Engine, Removing From Scissor Lift Table
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Engine Sling:2024A
- Shop Crane:VAS 6100
Procedure
- Engine/transmission assembly removed and separated on Scissor Lift Table:VAS 6131B . Refer to ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION, SEPARATING .
There is a risk of injury from the lifted engine/motor falling.
The possibility for parts of the body to be pinched or crushed increases.
- Secure the mounting hooks and pins on the lifting tackle with a securing pin.
-- Engage the Engine Sling:2024A -item 1- as shown on the engine lifting eye and on the Workshop Crane:VAS 6100 -item 2-.
-- Insert the securing pins -arrows- to secure the mounting hooks and alignment pins.
Risk of injury due to the engine weight shifting.
The possibility for parts of the body to be pinched or crushed increases.
- Transport the engine only without the transmission using the method described.
-- Tension the engine slightly with the shop crane, but do not lift.
-- Remove the Articulated Joint Support:VAS 6131/13-7 from the engine.
-- Lift the engine using the workshop crane.
