Removal & Installation (5-Series & 7-Series)

PCM is located in box in right rear corner of engine compartment. 7-Series V12 equipped vehicles use 2 PCMs. Open locking bracket on PCM/control unit box. Open filter housing cover. Unhook filter housing from hinges. Unhook retaining clip and pull filter housing upward. Remove filter housing. Remove 4 PCM/control unit cover bolts. For V12 illustration, see Fig 1 and Fig 2 . Disconnect PCM electrical connector. Remove PCM. To install, reverse removal procedure.
