COMPLAINT

"Check Engine" light on and failure indicator for transmission control module on (only on automatic transmission vehicles) with the transmission operating in the "Failsafe" mode.

CORRECTION

If a vehicle with engine control module fault code 12 (M50) or fault code 73 (M50TU) and transmission control module fault code 105 (only on automatic transmission vehicles) is encountered and the throttle position sensor and its circuit have tested good, and no other outside influence can be found, the idle speed control valve is to be replaced. Other outside influences may include, but are not limited to, the floor mat pushed up against the gas pedal, a misadjusted throttle cable, or a misadjusted cruise control actuator assembly.

NOTE: Please return the part with the corresponding service tester printout(s). Idle speed control valves received without these printouts will be returned and the claim debited.
