Anti-Lock - Traction Control: Servicing

Brake fluid should be replaced every two years. Brake fluid will retain moisture from air and could cause brake fluid boiling point to drop from 464°F (240°C) to 320°F (160°C).

System otherwise does not require maintenance, though there must be conformance with the following instructions when working on vehicles with ABS/ASC systems:

  1. The system needs very clean conditions and careful treatment during all repair and maintenance work.
  2. Connector must be removed from electronic unit when welding with an electric welder (ignition switched off).
  3. Electronic control unit may be briefly subjected to maximum 203°F (95°C) and to maximum 185°F (85°C) for a longer time (approximately 2 hours) when painting vehicle.
  4. Terminals must be completely tight on end poles of battery.
  5. Brake lines must not be swapped over. If necessary, mark them prior to disassembly.
