Anti-Lock - Traction Control: Servicing
Brake fluid should be replaced every two years. Brake fluid will retain moisture from air and could cause brake fluid boiling point to drop from 464°F (240°C) to 320°F (160°C).
System otherwise does not require maintenance, though there must be conformance with the following instructions when working on vehicles with ABS/ASC systems:
- The system needs very clean conditions and careful treatment during all repair and maintenance work.
- Connector must be removed from electronic unit when welding with an electric welder (ignition switched off).
- Electronic control unit may be briefly subjected to maximum 203°F (95°C) and to maximum 185°F (85°C) for a longer time (approximately 2 hours) when painting vehicle.
- Terminals must be completely tight on end poles of battery.
- Brake lines must not be swapped over. If necessary, mark them prior to disassembly.
