TEST CODE/CONTROL UNIT IDENTIFICATION Function

After selecting a control unit through BMW diagnostic software, an identification page appears. Printout of this page is followed by a test code on printer. This test code contains information which can be used to determine whether correct control unit is installed without having to remove control unit from vehicle. Control unit identification output consists of the following.
- DME Version
- Model Designation/Engine Type
- Oxygen Sensor Control (With/Without)
- Transmission Type: AG - Automatic Transmission (Hydraulic); EH - Automatic Transmission (Electronically Controlled); HG - Manual Transmission
- Fuel Requirement (Regular, Unleaded, etc.)
- Destination Country (USA)
- DME/Motronic Control Unit Code
- BMW Hardware/Software Part Number
- Bosch Hardware/Software Part Number
- Production Code (If Any).
