Decelerate Mode Does Not Work
- Disconnect cruise control unit wiring harness connector. Connect voltmeter leads to terminal No. 20 and ground. Turn control switch to ON position. Move cruise control switch to decelerate position. If no voltage is present, go to step 3). If 12 volts are present, go to next step.
- Release cruise control switch. If voltage drops to zero, replace cruise control unit. If voltage does not drop, check circuit between cruise control unit terminal No. 20 and cruise control switch terminal No. 7. If necessary, repair wire. If wire is okay, check cruise control switch. See CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH TEST under COMPONENT TESTS.
- Connect voltmeter leads to cruise control switch terminal No. 7 and ground. Turn control switch to ON position. Move cruise control switch to decelerate position. If no voltage is present, replace cruise control switch. If 12 volts are present, repair circuit between cruise control unit terminal No. 20 and cruise control switch terminal No. 7.
