New Spring Compressor Tool
SITUATION
Distribution of the following tool will be through the Automatic Tool Shipment Program. Additional tools may be purchased through your PDC. Refer to Parts Information bulletin 01 01 95 for tool warranty details.
Spring Compressor Tool P/N 90 88 6 313 340
A new spring compressor has been developed to handle the greater spring rates and longer clamping stroke required for Model year 2000 vehicles. The old style spring compressor and retainers (P/N 88 88 6 313 120 SIB 04 08 90 (3079) ) will no longer be produced. The new spring compressor can be used on all models listed below but must be used for all model year 2000 vehicles and newer. The old spring compressor can continue to be used for vehicles up to 1999 model year. Individual parts cannot be exchanged between the two spring compressors.

Application note: Never use an air impact driver on the spring compressor, damage can result. Instead, use a hand ratchet or a geared electric drill with a low range such as the Milwaukee Hole Hawg (model 1675-6) manufactured by Milwaukee Electric Tool corp.
