SUBJECT

CKM cannot activate visual Acknowledgment w/o DWA

equipped with General Module 5 with Coding index 5 (GM5, CI 5)

COMPLAINT

It is not possible to set the visual acknowledgment to active using CKM (Car/Key Memory) on E83 (X3), E85 (Z4) and E46 (3 Series) equipped with General Module 5 with Coding index 5 (GM5, CI 5).

CAUSE

Software error in CIP11.x, DIS V37.x and DIS V38.x for vehicles equipped with General Module 5 with Coding index 5 (GM5, CI 5).

MEASURE

Select retrofit DWA. But install no additional parts. This will set faults in the General Module each time the car is locked/unlocked.

This fault will be corrected with a later CIP version for E83 and E85 and with a later DIS version for E46.
